Gregory Henderson portrait

J. Gregory Henderson

president & ceo

Greg Henderson is President and Chief Executive Officer for Southeast Energy Authority and has served in this role since the company’s formation in 2019. Henderson also serves as President and CEO for Southeast Gas and Southeast Gas Supply. He joined the Southeast Gas family of businesses as Director of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Southeast Gas in 1998 and was named the company’s President & CEO in 2006. Henderson was named President & CEO of Southeast Gas Supply at its inception in 2010. Prior to joining Southeast Gas, he was employed by PowerSouth Energy for 12 years and PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in Birmingham for 3 years.

He is a Past Chair of American Public Gas Association (APGA) and serves on the Boards of Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, Auburn School of Accountancy Alumni Advisory, Easter Seals of Alabama, and CCB Community Bank. He is Past President of Alabama Natural Gas Association, Andalusia Chamber of Commerce, Andalusia Rotary Club, and LBW Community College Foundation. Henderson is Certified Public Accountant, and holds a degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Auburn University.

Lori Messick

CFO

Lori Messick is Chief Financial Officer for Southeast Energy Authority and has served in this role since the company’s formation in 2019. Messick also serves as Director of Finance and Administration and CFO for Southeast Gas and CFO for Southeast Gas Supply. She is a Certified Public Accountant. She is responsible for financial reporting, credit ratings, long-term debt management and Southeast Gas’ insurance programs.

Messick began working with Southeast Gas in 2001 as a General Accountant. She also served in the roles of Accounting Supervisor and Budget and Reporting Manager before assuming her current role with the company in 2016. Messick joined Southeast Gas with 10 years prior accounting experience, as well.

Brian Gilliland portrait

Brian Gilliland

Director of Gas Management

Brian Gilliland is Director of Gas Management for Southeast Energy Authority and has served in this role since the company’s formation in 2019. Gilliland also serves as Director of Gas Management for Southeast Gas and Southeast Gas Supply. He joined Southeast Gas in 2018. Prior to joining Southeast Gas, Gilliland worked with Kinder Morgan/Gulf LNG Energy as a Terminal Manager, a position in which he was responsible for managing and directing the 38 employees at Gulf LNG Energy including the maintenance and operations departments at the terminal. He brings 25 years of natural gas experience to his role on the executive team for Southeast Gas.

ownership & Governance

Southeast Energy Authority is owned and governed by 14 municipalities. Each municipality appoints a designated representative to serve on the Southeast Energy Authority Board of Directors. Additionally, a 15th Board member separately represents the City of Troy, Alabama. Current members of the SEA Board of Directors are:
